I bought two daylight, folding arm lamps at Costco. One of the arms eventually needed duct tape to keep upright. When the duct tape no longer worked I kept the bulb but tossed the lamp. The matching lamp also stopped standing upright and was tossed. It's time for the orphaned bulb to go.

Feng Shui Clutter Clearing Day 20 - Rainbow Colored Elastic Hair Binders

I bought a huge package of these binders to attach golf pencils to tiny notebooks. The notebooks were bound with recycled cardboard covers. I thought the pencils would be perfect for Minnesota winters where pens freeze in the car. The project was flawed. I kept stabbing myself with the goofy pencils and removing the binders before writing was a nuisance. They do look cheery in a pile.

The amazing thing was that I thought I needed to make little notebooks. I already own a forest of notebooks so why did I spend time to make more? I even bought a brochure stapler so that I could more effectively bind stacks of paper together.

My husband found an all you can eat crab restaurant in Cabo. He hunkered down for the duration and a couple of kids sold this to me while I was sitting on the patio watching my hubby eat. A hoard of kids descended on us and the cafe posted someone to shoo them away. The kids reminded me of feeding seagulls; feed one and you end up with a flock.

Not all my clutter is purchased, some is delivered free of charge; well, it's free if you don't count AIGA membership fees. This advertising piece was so clever it lived on my desk for the last week. The idea is to make something from the interlocking pieces. I did a free standing sculpture, considered a mobile and then put the pieces back in the card to photograph so they could be recycled.

I saw similar charms in a magazine and thought, I can make that. OK... We don't drink or own wine glasses and we haven't entertained with cocktails in over two decades; but I didn't let that stop me. I had to buy wire, multiple packs of beads and then make the darned things, it would have been less expensive to buy them. They are pretty though...

They languished in the cupboard for several years until they found their way into my desk where they became even less functional.
